Kaiheila Instructions for Use
How to set role permissions
1. Create a role
]
A user can be assigned multiple roles. When this happens, the user has the sum of the permissions of all roles. The user's role level is the highest role.
You manage your permissions by assigning permissions to different roles and assigning roles to different people.
Note: As the server creator, you will always have all permissions. So giving yourself roles is usually just for fun.
You can create any role, such as guest, administrator, etc. A member can have multiple roles, and each role can contain many people.
You can access the role management panel through [Server Settings]-[Role Permissions], where you can create, delete, and edit corresponding roles.
1. Open the server management menu
2. Select [Server Settings]
3.Select [Role Permissions]
When you create a server for the first time, there are two roles in the role list, among which [@all members] is the default role and cannot be deleted or renamed. This is the role that all members who join the server will have by default.
There is also the [Administrator], which is a role that can be modified, changed and deleted. This role is mainly for the transition from the administrator role in the previous version.
Select the plus sign to create a new character.
When you create a new character, you can set the details of the new character, including its name, color, and whether to group it separately.
2. Assign roles to members
Once you create the role you want, you can assign it to your members.
You have many ways to accomplish this.
1. In the server settings panel, select [Members]
Click the plus sign after the member’s name to add the role you want to assign
2. Select the member name, right-click to open the menu, and select the [Role] option to add or delete a role
3. Select the member name, left-click to open the personal panel, and add or delete roles in the role panel
3. Channel permissions
You can customize channel permissions (including text and voice channels) through the channel settings menu.
Click the gear icon of the channel settings, or select [Edit Channel] in the right-click menu
Select the role permissions tab
By default, @all members have all permissions to use the channel, and the slash in the middle means no changes will be made. You can also allow or disable the character from performing certain actions.
Note: Channel permissions will override server permissions, that is to say, no matter how you set server permissions, in the channel, the channel permissions will prevail.
You can select the plus sign to add special rules for other characters, and these rules will also take effect in the channel.
4. Group permissions
The channel has two states: synchronized with the group; unsynchronized.
All permissions of a channel synchronized with a group are exactly the same as the group permissions.
Channels that are not synchronized retain their own permission rules.
You can modify group permissions through [Edit Group] in the right-click menu and select [Role Permissions] in the group settings.
You can modify the channel visibility in the group permissions so that @all members cannot see the channels in the group.
Note: When you modify the group permissions, all channels under the group that are synchronized with the group will automatically synchronize the change.
The most important note: remember to save after making changes!
