Contents of Product Barcode Management Measures
The first article is to standardize the management of commodity barcodes, ensure the quality of commodity barcodes, accelerate the application of commodity barcodes in the fields of e-commerce and commodity circulation, and promote the informatization development of China's e-commerce and commodity circulation. These measures are formulated in accordance with relevant national regulations.
Article 2 The term “commodity barcodes” as mentioned in these Measures includes codes and barcodes for retail commodities, non-retail commodities, logistics units and locations.
China adopts the international commodity coding and barcode identification system, promotes the application of commodity barcodes, and establishes a Chinese commodity identification system.
Article 3: These Measures apply to the registration, encoding, printing, application and management of commodity barcodes within the territory of the People's Republic of China.
Article 4 The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (hereinafter referred to as the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine) and the National Standardization Administration Committee (hereinafter referred to as the National Standardization Administration) are the competent departments for the national commodity barcoding work and uniformly organize and manage the national commodity barcoding work. The China Article Coding Center (hereinafter referred to as the Coding Center) is the national barcode working organization and is responsible for the specific implementation of national barcode management.
Article 5: The manufacturer identification code is an important part of the product barcode. Any unit or individual who uses commodity barcodes must be approved and registered in accordance with these measures, and must obtain a manufacturer identification code.
