How to build HelixServer with streaming media server software
(1) Double-click to run the downloaded HelixProducerPlus. It will first self-extract and then display the SetupOfHelixServer installation wizard.
(2) Click the Next button, type the file name of the authorization file and the folder where it is located, which is the storage path of the authorized file being applied for. Of course, you can also click the Browse button to find and locate the file.
(3) Click the Next button to ask the user to read the usage agreement in detail.
(4) Click the Accept button to accept the agreement, and the installation path dialog box will be displayed. It is recommended to use the system default value, that is, save application files in the system partition. Since by default, all streaming media files will also be saved in this folder, you should wait until the installation is completed before modifying the saving path of the streaming media files.
(5) Click the Next button. Since HelixServer uses remote management, you need to set a username and password for remote management services. Type the username in the Username text box, and type the same password in the Password text box and ConfirmPassword text box.
(6) Click the Next button to specify the listening port of the server when connecting in PNA mode. The default value is 7070. It is recommended to use the system default value here.
(7) Click the Next button, where you can set the port number used for RTSP connection. The default port number is 554. It is recommended to use the system default value.
(8) Click the Next button. It is required to set the HTTP listening port. The default is 80. Since port 80 is the default port for Web services, when the computer is configured as a Web server at the same time, this value should be modified to other unoccupied port numbers (such as 8080, etc.) to avoid service failure due to port conflicts. .
(9) Click the Next button, where you can set the MMS port number. The default port number is 1755. If the WindowsMedia service is also installed on the server, the port number needs to be modified. Otherwise, it is recommended to keep the system defaults.
(10) Click the Next button to continue, where you can set the administrator-specific management port. Since the administrator can remotely manage the server through the Web, the port number is randomly generated for security reasons and generally does not require any modification. Of course, in order to facilitate memory, corresponding modifications can also be made.
(11) Click the Next button and select the InstallHelixServerasanNTservice check box. This will cause HelixServer to start as a "service". That is to say, when the computer is restarted, the service can still start running automatically in the background even if no user is logged in.
(12) Click the Next button, and all the information such as the set port, user name, installation path, etc. will be displayed here. If you think there is a problem with a certain setting, you can click the Back button to return to check and make corresponding modifications.
(13) Click the Finish button to start the system installation process. After the installation is completed, it is prompted that HelixServer has been successfully installed.
(14) Click the OK button to end the installation wizard. It should be noted that the HelixServer service is not officially running at this time. You can switch to "Control Panel" -> "Administrative Tools" -> "Service" option, and the "Service" console window will be displayed. Select the HelixServer option in the "Services" list, right-click the mouse and select the "Start" command in the pop-up shortcut menu, or reboot the computer.
After completing the above settings, you can start the HelixServer management window for management.
