Founded in January 2000 by Robin Li and Xu Yong in Zhongguancun, Beijing, Baidu is committed to providing people with a "simple, reliable" way to obtain information. The word "Baidu" comes from the poem "The Sapphire Case" by Xin Qiji, a poet from the Song Dynasty in China: "Looking for him in thousands of Baidu", which symbolizes Baidu's persistent pursuit of Chinese information retrieval technology. Listed on NASDAQ on August 5, 2005. On the afternoon of April 13, 2016, Baidu Chairman and CEO Robin Li announced the reorganization of Baidu's business structure through an internal email.
