TextSeek installation steps

1. Download the compressed package of TextSeek official version from Huajun Software Park. After decompressing, double-click the exe file, select the installation language Chinese Simplified, and click OK.

2. View the software license agreement and click I accept.

3. Select the Start menu folder, the default is enough, and click Next

4. Set the software installation location. Click Browse to modify the default installation location on the C drive. It is recommended that you choose to install on the D drive, and then click Install.

5. The official version of TextSeek software is being installed, we are waiting patiently.

6. The software is installed successfully. Click Finish to run the software.

How to use TextSeek

Run the software and enter the name of the file you want to search in the search box. All information containing the text you entered will be displayed.

TextSeek provides two search modes: area mode and easy mode. Users can switch modes by clicking the label button on the upper right.

Area mode is used to search fixed common folders and is a long-term use mode. In this mode, the documents in the zone will be pre-scanned, so the search is fast and the search results are complete.

Easy mode is used for folders outside the search area or the need to frequently change the search range. It is a temporary mode. In this mode, the user clicks search before starting to scan the document, so the easy mode search is slower, but it will be displayed as soon as a matching result (even just one) is found. The search process continues until the user clicks the Stop button or until all documents have been scanned.

Let’s first introduce the district model. At the top of the main interface, there is a large search box. Enter the search terms (separate the terms with spaces) and click "Search" (or press "Enter"). The search results are displayed as follows:

All search results are displayed on the left. You can click the results link to display a preview of the document on the right, or double-click the results link to open the document. You can perform more actions on the document by right-clicking on the resulting link. There are four buttons at the top of the preview panel on the right, which are used for "Open File", "Open Folder", "Previous Item" and "Next Item".

TextSeek's search is character-level, so if you search for "market" you will find "Euromarketing" or "supermarket". If you want to search for whole words, just check "Match whole words". Likewise, you can select a region to limit the search scope. If you want to change the scope of a zone, click the Zone Editor button (next to the zone selection box) to open the zone editor (click here to learn more).

Next, let’s introduce Easy Mode. Click the “Easy Mode” button on the right, and you can see that the search interface changes to a green style. In this mode you can only search a single folder. After setting the extension and target folder, you can start the search. The easy mode search is slower, but it will be displayed as soon as a matching result (even just one) is found. If you are sure that the search results are sufficient, click the round green button to stop the search.
