The causes of computer failures are confusing and elusive. And because the components of the Windows operating system are relatively complex, once a computer fails, it is almost impossible for ordinary users to accurately find out the cause of the failure. So does it mean that if we encounter a computer failure, we will be completely helpless? In fact, this is not the case. Although there are many reasons for computer failure, as long as we observe carefully and summarize carefully, we can still grasp some rules and solutions to computer failures. Here, we will show you some of the most common and typical computer fault diagnosis and maintenance methods. Through it, you will find that the method to solve computer faults is around you, simple, but effective!
Software application examples:
1. Fault message: When the computer starts the system, it sometimes prompts an error message of "xxx.vxd" or invalid file 386. The system can continue to start after clicking any key.
Troubleshooting: Run Computer Troubleshooter and enter "xxx.vxd" or "386 file invalid" fault information in the fault keyword to find out the following information:
If you are prompted with an error message that the 386 file is invalid, and if the file extension involved in the error message is .386 or the file extension is not displayed, you can open the system.ini file (located in the system directory), and then enter [386Enh] in the file. The command line that deletes the error message from the bytes. If the error message persists, we can open the registry by running the "Regedit" command in "Start → Run". Find the primary key where the command is located in the registry editor (use the "Edit → Find" command) and delete the primary key.
2. Fault message: Every time the computer is turned on, the desktop background has just appeared, and a dialog box has appeared before even the taskbar under the screen. There is the word "mprexe" in the upper left corner, and the content is "This program has performed an illegal operation and will soon Shut down, please contact the supplier." Sometimes it can still start normally after shutting down, sometimes it stops and can only be restarted. Even if I overwrite and reinstall Win98, it doesn't work.
Troubleshooting: Run Computer Troubleshooter, enter "mprexe" or generally enter "illegal operation" in the fault keyword to find the following information:
Solution: MPR errors are generally caused by user password file errors, service conflicts and user configuration files, hardware conflicts, hardware driver errors, etc.
1. Error in user password file
We can correct the error by rebuilding the user password file. Press "Win+F" to open the search window, enter "*.pwl" in the "File Name" column, press "Start Search", and in the found file window, rename or delete all files. Restart Windows, and when the login window appears, re-enter your username and password...
2. Service/Application Conflict
To resolve service and application conflicts, you need to start your computer in "Safe Mode." Then uninstall the application you just installed or disable the service to see if that solves the problem.
3. User profile issues
This can resolve such errors by disabling user profiles.
Right-click on "Network Neighborhood", select "Properties", select "Share-Level Access Control" in "Access Control", confirm to exit and then restart.
4.Hardware conflict
You can find hardware conflicts by disabling the offending hardware in Device Manager.
Open "Control Panel"/"System"/"Device Manager", double-click on the device with a yellow exclamation mark (or question mark), select "This device is disabled in the current profile", repeat the above steps to find the real conflicting device hardware, please replace it.
5. Device driver is damaged
Please reinstall the driver for this device.

3. Fault information: One of my Shenzhou and 2000T computers has no problem when connecting a USB flash drive, but if it is connected to a USB mobile hard disk, it will stop responding. How to solve it?
Troubleshooting: Run Computer Troubleshooter and enter "usb" or mobile hard disk in the fault keyword to find out the following fault information:
This is caused by insufficient USB power supply on the motherboard. Some USB hard disks currently on the market have higher power supply current requirements. If the requirements are not met, it may cause a crash. You can try to solve it by the following two methods:
1. If the crash occurs on the front USB interface, try using the rear USB interface instead;
2. Use USB HUB with external power supply. 
4. Note: If there is a fault that cannot be found, you can shorten the "fault keyword" or change it to a similar one. If that doesn't work, use fuzzy query; if there is a fault location prompt when a fault occurs, you must enter part of the fault prompt information. , such as: "STOP 0x0000001a", "xxx.vxd" and other English prompts.
