The Foundry Mari Software Features
1. Project Startup: The new project dialog layout has been refreshed with a new tab for setting up initial project lighting. When using channel presets, Mari now automatically builds shaders and connects the created channels to the corresponding Node Graph shader inputs.
2. Export Manager: A new Export Manager dialog for managing batch exports of channels and Bake Point nodes has been implemented. You can now configure and manage multiple export targets from the same source, as well as perform format conversions during export.
3. Palettes Toolbar: We’ve introduced a new Palettes toolbar with buttons for each Mari palette. This provides quick and easy access to your color palette.
4. Tool grouping: Because there are so many tools stacked in the toolbar, on some systems they don't all fit on the screen. Mari's similarly functional tools have been grouped under a single button in the Tools toolbar.
5. Advanced mode for Node Graph: Locking the complete Node Graph behind preferences is a hindrance. Therefore, the basic node graph mode has been removed and the advanced mode is now the standard mode. This also unlocks the full node graph in Non-Commercial.
6. Texture Settings Palette: There is now a palette for managing Mari’s internal texture sets. You can load multiple related images, texture sets into the image manager via drag and drop. The first supported texture set comes from Megascans, with a dedicated tab for browsing the keywords and tags that come with each downloaded library item.
7.UI Declutter: HUD has been updated to match Modo’s style. Various control palettes have been merged and tools have been grouped together to tidy up the UI. The Projection palette has been merged with the Painting Palette, and the Brush Editor palette has been removed.
8. Drag-and-drop fill mechanism: It is now possible to use the drag-and-drop trigger mechanism to fill the current item selection and remove colors. Filling works in all selection modes (object, patch and face). When using the Marquee Selection tool, dragging color onto the canvas fills the selected area of the draw buffer.
9. Color and control precision: The Color Palette can now be scaled for better precision, and the component slider has been improved to show the final color of each point on the control. You can now adjust values using the keyboard and mouse wheel, just like in Nuke.
10. Group layer workflow: The layer palette is now more intuitive when working with group layers. With your layers selected, create a new layer group. Now group these layers into a new layer group. Creating new layers when Group Layers is selected will add these new layers to the selected Group Layers.
11. Curve Editor: Curve properties are now displayed as grayscale gradients in Mari’s properties panel, and a separate zoomable Curve Editor window is displayed to allow precise editing.
