The gods sealed the Bloodstone with Doric's blood and sunk it deep into a volcano near the coast of the Kingdom of Kryta. The war that ensued between Abaddon, his followers and the other five gods completely changed the world. In the end, Abaddon was defeated, and the place where he fell became withered and twisted, forming a desolate ruin. Afterwards, the Five True Gods sealed Abaddon and imprisoned him in the Place of Torment.

It is because of this war that the gods left Tyria. This event, known as the "Departure of the Gods," marked a new stage in Tyria's history, in which all living beings must face the future alone.
