Method 1: Manual uninstall
1. If it is an XP system, select the "Start" menu → Run → enter dxdiag and press Enter to open the DirectX diagnostic window and select the "DirectX File" tab, as shown in Figure 1:
2. Open the C:WindowsSystem32 folder and find the first file (ddraw.dll) in the "DirectX Files" list. Note that the files in the folder must correspond to the versions of the files in the "DirectX Files" list; such as ddraw. dll file, the version in the "DirectX Files" list is 5.03.3790.3959 (if it is the version to be uninstalled), then the ddraw.dll of the folder is also this version.
3. Follow the above method, in the C:WindowsSystem32 folder, select all files in the "DirectX Files" list, and then delete them.
If it is a Windows 7 or above version system, there is no "DirectX file" option in the DirectX diagnostic tool, and you need to find the DirectX file yourself in the C:WindowsSystem32 folder. DirectX usually has the following files:
Files starting with d3d, ddhelp.exe, ddraw.dll, ddrawex.dll, dinput.dll, dinput8.dll, directx.cpl, dsound.dll, dplay.dll, dplayx.dll, dpmodemx.dll, dpwsockx.dll, dplaysvr.exe, dpwsock.dll, dpserial.dll, joy.cpl.
4. Select "Start → Run", enter regedit and press Enter, open the following editor, and locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoft, as shown in Figure 2:
Select DirectX and double-click Version to open the window as shown in Figure 3:
Clear "Case Data" and click "OK".
If DirectX has not been uninstalled, you can delete the Direct3D, DirectDraw, DirectInput, DirectMusic, DirectPlay, DirectPlay8, DirectX, and DirectX Diagnostic Tool items under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoft. Windows 7 may not have some items, so you can ignore them.
Method 2: Uninstall the tool
