Google's browser Chrome has attracted a large number of loyal users with its fast kernel, simple interface and deep integration with Google accounts. However, Chrome's best thing is undoubtedly its Chrome Web Store, which contains countless lightweight extensions that can transform the Chrome browser to be more efficient and usable.

At WWDC2020, Apple announced that it would bring WebExtensions API to the Safari browser. Developers can use the safari-web-extension-converter development tool to directly port plug-ins from other mainstream browsers (such as Chrome, Firefox) to Safari.

In the past, Safari only allowed sharing extensions or content blockers. Next, Safari Web Extensions will make it easier for developers to write useful add-ons using technologies like JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

This means that Safari will support more types of web plug-ins, and it will be easier for Apple to get existing plug-ins ported from other browsers.
