Autotoll

Autotoll is Hong Kong's electronic payment system (ETC). Electronic road pricing (ETC) service was introduced to Hong Kong in 1992. Currently, Autotoll's ETC system has provided services on 12 major arterial lines and tunnels in Hong Kong, bringing unlimited convenience to motorists. Autotoll is the sole provider of automated road payment systems in Hong Kong. Its shareholders include Sun Hung Kai Properties (managed through Weixin Group), Kongtong Holdings Limited and TransCore. Currently, drivers who use Autotoll must pay a deposit of HK$500 and a monthly administrative fee of HK$35. Each time they pass through a tunnel, the toll station uses microwave sensors and charges a fixed amount. It is a prepaid consumption.
