Photo stickers, also known as sticker photos in Hong Kong and Macau, are a very popular photography method in Japan and China, mostly selfies. Japanese プリクラ (プリント倶楽部), also known as Print Club, the first photo sticker machine appeared in Japan in 1995. In 1997, photo stickers became a fashion for Japanese high school girls. KANON is a work created in 1999, in which photo stickers have become quite popular in Japan. The photo sticker machine was invented by Tang Jun, who once served as the president of Microsoft China. At that time, he sold the patent to a Japanese photo sticker company for US$500,000. Therefore, the current authentic photo sticker machines are all produced in Japan.
