Analog TV Topics

The entire process from image signal generation, transmission, processing to receiver recovery is almost all completed under an analog system. Its characteristic is that it adopts time axis sampling, each frame is sampled in the vertical direction, and the television image signal is transmitted in an amplitude modulation manner. In order to reduce the frequency band and avoid the sensitive frequency of human eyes to image reproduction, one frame of image is divided into odd and even fields for scanning. In addition, during the 1960s and 1970s, when the main technical parameters of analog TV were determined, the related theoretical and technical flaws made traditional analog TV vulnerable to interference, chromatic distortion, bright color crosstalk, line crosstalk, line creep, large-area flickering, low definition, and weak sense of presence. In the analog field, no matter how the hardware structure is updated and improved, the functions and sound and image quality that TV should have are still far from being achieved, which is not enough for it to undergo a comprehensive and fundamental change. In the 1980s, digital TV receivers appeared in Germany, thus opening the curtain of digital TV.
