IPMessenger is a free software invented by Japanese Shirouzu Hiroaki. It is an instant messaging software in a local area network, based on TCP/IP (UDP); it can run on a variety of operating platforms (Win , Mac, UNIX, Java), and realize cross-platform information exchange. No server support is required, and it supports file/folder transfer (version 2.00 or above). It was developed in the 1990s. Communication data is encrypted by RSA/Blofish (version 2.00 or above), which is very compact, easy to use, and users can use it completely free of charge; existing versions in 2011 include: Win32, Win16, MacOS, MacOSX, X11, GTK, GNOME, Java, etc., and open source code.
