Basic introduction

The "Kangxi Dictionary" was updated based on the two books "Zi Hui" and "Zheng Zi Tong" of the Ming Dynasty. It is a Chinese character dictionary with far-reaching influence compiled by more than 30 famous scholars including Zhang Yushu and Chen Tingjing in accordance with the imperial edict of Kangxi. The compilation of the book began in the 49th year of Kangxi (1710) and was completed in the 55th year of Kangxi (1716), which took six years, so the book is called "Kangxi Dictionary".
