You may have multiple versions of the .NET Framework installed on your computer. Each version of the .NET Framework on your computer can coexist with the other versions. However, recently Microsoft has also released a new version, namely .NET Framework 4.0. As a computer enthusiast, I also tried to install it, and found that after installing this new version on a computer with an XP operating system, its boot speed will become very slow, about three times the original time. On the other hand, a computer with a Win7 operating system comes with .NET Framework 4.0, and its boot speed is still OK, and it does not feel very slow.

Note: Before you install a release of the .NET Framework, you must remove any beta versions that the release is based on. Otherwise, this .NET Framework release will not be installed. You can uninstall the beta version of the .NET Framework by using the Add or Remove Programs tool in Control Panel.
