A GIF animation recording software produced by Shuimiao Software. This software can record any action in a designated area of ​​the screen and save it to a GIF file.

Right-click the "Save Animation" icon to copy the GIF to the clipboard (can be pasted in the QQ chat window).

shortcut key:

F8: Select recording area.

F9: Record or pause.

F10: Stop.

F11: Show or hide the outer frame.

Alt+F12: Show or hide the tray icon (when you need to monitor what the user has done on this computer, you can enable the "save every frame" function and use the hide tray icon function to avoid the user's discovery).

If there is a key conflict in the front of other windows, you can add Ctrl, Alt, Shift, etc. to avoid the conflict, which will be recognized by the software.

After pressing the button, you can check the status of the tray icon to determine the recording status.

I originally wrote a "Spirit GIF Recording" a few years ago, but the size of the GIF files recorded by this software was generally too large, which was not suitable for practical use. Later, due to various delays, I did not update this software. In 2014, Shuimiao re-wrote the software, which is now "Shui Miao·GIF Animation Recording Wizard".

This software uses "dynamic area positioning" compression algorithm to extremely compress the size of recorded GIF files. However, this algorithm has a shortcoming, that is, it cannot compress screen movements with large changes very well. For example, a function in the software "follow the mouse" can record wherever the mouse moves. However, the changes are large, so the compression The effect is not very good. Therefore, it is generally recommended to record at a fixed position (that is, uncheck mouse follow) so that the compression effect can be maximized. For example, if you draw a box, and the process of typing in the box can be easily compressed by the program, the GIF file size will be very small. Alternatively you can reduce the size by up to half by setting the quality to "Less".
