Nikon Wireless Transmitter Utility wireless transmission software version 1.4.0 For WinXP-32/Vista-32/Vista-64/Win7-32/Win7-64/Win8-32/Win8-64 (released on March 14, 2013)

Nikon Wireless Transmitter Utility was formerly known as WT-4 Setup Utility. WT-4 Setup Utility is WT-4-specific software, but this software can be used with a wider range of hardware, including WT-4 and WT-5, so Nikon renamed it Wireless Transmitter Utility.

Wireless Transmitter Utility is software used to create network profiles when using the Ethernet functionality in the D4 or Wireless Transmitter WT-5 or WT-4. This software is intended for use by those using the built-in Ethernet functionality in the Communication Unit UT-1, Wireless Transmitter WT-4, WT-5 or D4.

Recently, Nikon released a new version of Wireless Transmitter Utility, version number 1.4.0. This version mainly includes the following updates:

- Added support for D7100 and Communication Unit UT-1 combination.

- WT-4 thumbnail selection mode and print mode are no longer supported.

- Added compatibility with 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro and Microsoft Windows 8 Enterprise.

Things to note when using UT-1:

- The connection modes of UT-1 are limited: "Transfer mode" and "PC mode", "Thumbnail mode" and "Print mode" are not supported.

- When launching the Wireless Transmitter Utility to create a network profile for use with a D4, D800, D800E, or D7000, be sure to select the "WT-4/UT-1 (use as WT-4)" option in the Select Hardware dialog box.

- When launching the Wireless Transmitter Utility to create a network profile for use with the D7100, be sure to select the "Wired LAN" option in the Select Hardware dialog box. When using the UT-1 with the WT-5, please select the "WT-5 (Wireless LAN)" option.

- When using a UT-1 with the D4, always set the Network > Camera Settings menu option Hardware to WT-4.

To transfer clips shot with D4, D800, D800E, D300S, D3S and D7000 (WT-4), the following modes support clip transfer:

D3S and D300S: "Transmission Mode". D4, D800, D800E and D7000: "Transfer Mode" and "PC Mode". However, the "AutoSend" and "Send Folder" transfer settings of "Transfer Mode" are not supported.

Use "Transfer Mode" to transfer clips as described below.

1. Connect to the network in "Transfer Mode".

2. Select one or more clips in full frame or thumbnail playback mode.

3. Start transferring after applying the transfer mark to the selected clip, as shown below.

D4: Press OK and press the center button of the multi selector

D3S: Press thumbnail/playback zoom button and press center button on multi selector

D800, D800E, D300S: Press the camera’s OK button

D7000: Hold down the BKT button and press OK

Notice:

When using this software with the WT-4, please ensure that firmware version 1.1 is installed on the WT-4. Also, if using a D3, make sure your camera's A and B firmware are both version 2.02. If using a D300, make sure the camera's A and B firmware are version 1.10.

Wireless Transmitter WT-4/WT-4A: (Supported cameras: D4, D3X, D3S, D3, D800, D800E, D700, D300S, D300, D7000)

Wireless Transmitter WT-5: (Supported cameras: D4)

D4: (Supports camera built-in Ethernet function)

Communication Unit UT-1 (including use with WT-5): (Supported cameras: D4, D800, D800E, D7000, D7100).
