JBoss

JBoss is a J2EE application server that runs EJBs. It is an open source project and follows the latest J2EE specifications. Since the inception of the JBoss project, it has developed from an EJB container to a web operating system (operating system for web) based on J2EE. It embodies the latest technology in the J2EE specification, and it also won the "Best Java Application Server" award in the JavaWorld Editors' Choice 2002 selection. Whether it is learning or application, JBoss provides us with a very excellent platform.

JBOSS features:

​ ​ 1. JBoss is a free, open source J2EE implementation, released through the LGPL license. But there are also closed sources, and the inflow and outflow of open source and closed source are not the same.
​ ​ 2. JBoss requires relatively small memory and hard disk space.
3. Easy installation: after decompression, you only need to configure some environment variables.
​ ​ 4. JBoss supports "hot deployment". When deploying BEAN, just copy the BEAN JAR file to the deployment path and it will be automatically loaded; if there are changes, it will be automatically updated.
​ 5. JBoss and the Web server run in the same Java virtual machine, and the Servlet calls the EJB without going through the network, thus greatly improving operating efficiency and improving security performance.
​ ​ 6. Users can directly implement J2EE-EAR instead of implementing EJB-JAR and Web-WAR separately in the past, which is very convenient.
​ ​ 7. Jboss supports clustering.

JBOSS is installed as follows:

​ ​ 1. Download the latest JBOSS and unzip it to the D drive directory (or other drives)
​ ​ ​ You also need to set the JBOSS_HOME environment variable.
After the installation is completed, you can enter localhost:8080 in the background browser. If it is as shown below, it means the installation is successful.
