Ethernet controller universal driver installation method:
Install network card driver;
1. Ensure that the network card hardware is installed correctly. Turn on the computer, and the "Found New Hardware" dialog box will appear. Then follow the wizard prompts to install the network card driver. After successfully installing the network card, you will be asked to reboot.
2. Configure the TCP/IP network protocol. Every computer on the network has an IP address, and each computer must have a unique IP address. The configuration process is as follows:
For windows 98, windows ME:
1. Open the Control Panel and select "Network"
2. In the "Network" panel, set the "TCP/IP" properties. In the "TCP/IP Properties" panel that opens, select "Specify IP Address".
3. Enter your IP address and subnet mask.
4. Select the "Gateway" tab, enter the gateway, and finally don't forget to select "Add".
5. Select the "DNS Configuration" tab, select "Enable DNS", enter the host name and DNS server IP address, and finally don't forget to click "Add".
6. After confirmation, restart the computer.
For windows 2000, windows XP:
1. Right-click the "My Network Places" icon on the desktop and select the "Properties" menu.
2. In the network dialog box that opens, right-click the "Local Area Connection" icon and select the "Properties" menu.
3. Set the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" properties.
4. In the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties" dialog box that opens, select "Use the following IP address" and set the machine's IP address, subnet mask, and gateway.
