​​​How to assemble parts

​ ​ First open CATIA and open the assembly design interface through the menu path: Start>Mechanical Design>Assembly Design

Open the assembly design interface as shown in the figure, mainly using the icons [Product Structure Tools], [Constraints], [Move], [Assembly Features], [Measurement], [Update], and [Parts Catalog] toolbars.

Import components or parts through [Component] or [Part] in the [Product Structure Toolbar], where the component refers to the assembly. Generally, the part is included by selecting [Component]; you can also click on the file tree through the icon Right-click the mouse and select [Existing Parts]. Remember that no matter which method you use, you must first click on the graphics tree [Product 1] before importing.

Through [Operation] in the [Move] toolbar, you can open the [Operation Parameters] dialog box. There are a variety of movement methods on it. You can click to try the effect.

​​​How to engrave

Open CATIA, click > Text in the toolbar, a text editor dialog box will pop up, enter the font in it, and adjust the font and size. After the operation is completed, click OK to save the file in dxf format and close the engineering drawing interface;

In the main interface, click > File > Open. A file dialog box will pop up. Select the dxf format file you just saved. Double-click to open the file. In the engineering drawing interface, select the text and click Copy or press Ctrl+C and save the interface. Switch to the main part design interface. The shortcut key is Ctrl+Tab. Use the upper surface of the part as the sketch datum plane to enter the sketch interface, and press Ctrl+V to paste the text and adjust the text to the center of the entity;

After adjusting the text position, exit the sketch interface, click the > Groove command in the toolbar, select the first restriction type as Until the end, and select the outline as the font sketch just pasted, click Preview and OK to exit the command dialog box, and operate Finish.
