Geometric Sketchpad is a good geometric drawing software. Next, the editor will explain the detailed steps of using the trajectory to make a cylinder in Geometric Sketchpad. I believe it will definitely help friends in need.
Step 1: Draw an ellipse
Open the Geometry Sketchpad, click the "Custom Tools" button on the left sidebar, and select "Conic A" - Ellipse from the pop-up shortcut options.
After selecting the above tools, click the mouse on the canvas to draw an ellipse. The drawn ellipse is as shown in the picture.
Step 2: Make a cylinder
Select the “Point Tool” on the left sidebar and draw a point C on the ellipse. Select the center of the circle and point C, click the "Transform" menu in the upper menu bar, select the "Translate" command from its drop-down option, fill in the translation distance of 5cm in the pop-up dialog box, and click the "Translate" button.
Select the "Moving Arrow Tool" to select point C and point C' obtained by translation, click the "Construction" menu in the upper menu bar, and select the "Trajectory" command from its drop-down option.
An ellipse is also seen on the top. Use the line segment tool to construct line segment CC’, select point C and line segment CC’, click the “Construction” menu in the upper menu bar, select the “Trajectory” command from its drop-down option, and you will see the cylinder.
Come and learn the detailed steps of using the trajectory to make a cylinder on the geometric sketchpad. It will definitely help everyone.
