Microsoft is making great efforts to promote its new Chromium-based Edge browser, including posting small ads in the Windows 10 start menu, using Windows Update to push updates comprehensively, and so on.
Of course, we have to admit that the Edge browser, which has changed its kernel, has indeed been completely transformed. Its experience has caught up with Chrome, and it has also grabbed more market share from Firefox. The latest data shows that the Edge browser's market share has increased slightly from 7.76% to 7.86%, while the Firefox browser's share has dropped from 7.25% to 7.23%.
However, although Edge has not yet threatened Chrome's dominance, Google has been very vigilant about this. Recently, according to foreign media reports, user feedback stated that users who use the Edge browser to log in to Gmail have received warnings and promotional emails from Google.

It is reported that although the email ostensibly warns users who have logged into Gmail on a new computer, after clicking on the email, most of the content is an advertisement for the Chrome browser, and it also comes with a download link.
Google promoted in the email: "Hi, you've just signed in on your new computer. Get the most out of Windows 10 with Chrome. Chrome is a fast, simple, and secure browser built for the modern web. Download Chrome."
Although this is a very normal business competition behavior, considering the huge number of Gmail users, Google’s email will undoubtedly greatly increase the difficulty of attracting new Edge browsers.
