Method 1. End the interfering process

1. The upgrade process pingyinup.exe process input by Sogou will cause this fault.

2. Right-click the area where there is no icon on the taskbar and select "Task Manager", or press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open the "Task Manager" window:

3. Select the pingyinup.exe process and press the Del key or click "End Task" to end it;

4. Reopen the PPT and you should be able to input Chinese characters normally.

Method 2. Simple and effective method

1. Click the "Start" menu, select "All Programs", select "Accessories", and then select "Notepad":

2. Copy and save the following content as the "PPT cannot input Chinese .reg" file (note that it is saved as a .reg file):

3. Double-click to execute the "PPT cannot input Chinese.reg" program. It is recommended to keep this procedure for later use.

Method 3: Open advanced text service

1. When Chinese characters cannot be input in PPT, the taskbar input method switching icon is generally not available.

2. If there is no such icon, you can follow the following steps.

3. Open the Control Panel, double-click to open "Regional and Language Options", select the "Language" option, and then click the "Details" button

4. In the pop-up "Text Services and Input Languages" dialog box, click "Language Bar" and check the "Show Language Bar on Desktop" check box

5. Select the “Advanced” tab;

6. In the check box before "Turn off advanced text service" in the "System Configuration" item, cancel "√"

7. Click "OK".

Note: Advanced text service refers to text services other than English. Chinese is used here, so this service is also required. Therefore, do not check the box in front of "Turn off advanced text service", otherwise the input method toolbar will disappear again.
