Microsoft is developing "Smart Compose" feature for Outlook.com

According to Microsoft’s Microsoft 365 roadmap, Microsoft is developing a new feature for Outlook that can predict what users type in the body of an email. This feature is just like Gmail’s Smart Composes. Microsoft’s Outlook will also use smart composes. technology to provide users with suggestions for the best words to use when composing an email.


Microsoft calls this feature "Text Prediction" and is currently developing it for Outlook on the Web. From the released animation, we found that this feature is very similar to Gmail's Smart Compose. When users see suggestions they like, they You can use the Tab key to make selections. As users use this feature frequently, Text Prediction gets smarter and can better recognize the user's writing intention and understand the context.

According to the information displayed in the support document, users can turn on this feature from "Settings" > "View all Outlook settings" > "Mail" > "Compose and reply" > "Text prediction".

The text prediction feature is expected to begin rolling out later this month.
