Due to the spread of the epidemic, in order to reduce the maintenance burden on corporate IT employees, Microsoft had previously announced that it would extend the support time for Windows 10 version 1709.
On March 25, Microsoft’s official Twitter issued a similar announcement, announcing that it would suspend the testing C/D type cumulative updates of Windows 10 and instead focus on security updates. The following are the following three points:
1. Microsoft is focusing its efforts on security updates;
2. Starting from May 2020, Microsoft will suspend all non-security updates (category C/D updates) for all supported Windows versions;
3. The monthly security updates (Tuesday updates) will not change and will be carried out as planned to ensure business continuity and protect customer productivity.
I believe that such a decision will also reduce the burden on Microsoft employees who work from home.
Google has taken similar measures before, delaying the upcoming Chrome 82 version and prioritizing security updates; Microsoft's Edge browser also followed suit and announced that it would postpone updates.
