1. Create a new named data source
First, select "Data Source" in the toolbox on the left side of the interface to display the "Data Source" pane.
Open the context menu of "Named Data Source", right-click and select "Create Named Data Source" to open the Create Named Data Source Wizard.
Follow the prompts in the wizard and click Finish when finished.

2. Name existing data sources
Double-click the object that contains the data source you want to share to open the Object Properties dialog box. Alternatively, select Properties from the object's context menu;
Select the required data source from the navigation pane;
Select the Data Source tab to view the data source property pages.
Next to the Name field, click the small icon to open the Change Data Source Name wizard.
In the Name field, enter the desired name by which you want to refer to the selected data source.
Click OK to apply the name change, and then close the Change Data Source Name Wizard.

After you name the data source, it will appear in the BarTender Named Data Source, thus completing the creation of the BarTender Named Data Source.
