According to reports, Intel recently released a latest driver for Ivy Bridge IGP, driver version number 8.15.10.2712, which allows Ivy Bridge IGP to support OpenGL 3.3 and provides 132 OpenGL extended instruction sets. Although this driver also supports Sandy Bridge IGP, Sandy Bridge IGP cannot get support for OpenGL 3.3 from it. Apparently, Intel only makes the Ivy Bridge IGP, the HD 4000 graphics core and the HD 2500 graphics core, support OpenGL 3.3. Sandy Bridge IGP still only supports OpenGL 3.1.

Compared with Sandy Bridge, Intel Ivy Bridge CPU performance improvement is not large, but the graphics performance improvement is very significant. The integrated IGP HD 4000 graphics performance is significantly improved compared to the integrated IGP HD 3000 graphics performance of Sandy Bridge, and the hardware supports DX11 and OpenGL 3.2.
