Most of the rogue pop-up windows that everyone encounters are of the following two types. One is a pop-up window in the center of the screen, such as headlines, information, etc.; the other is a pop-up window in the lower right corner, such as a lottery or discount information. These pop-ups usually give you a cross to close, but they pop up again suddenly and cannot be closed permanently. Wondering how to turn it off permanently?
One is to pop up a window in the center of the screen
The second is the pop-up window in the lower right corner
1. Aiming at pop-up programs that are easy to locate
The first step is to locate, open the task manager, find the process corresponding to the name of the pop-up program, then right-click and select "Open file location", so that we locate the pop-up software.
The first step is positioning
Locate pop-up software location
Locate pop-up software location
Pop-up software that has been located
The second step is to delete. After locating the pop-up software, we make a copy and save it to another location to prevent program errors. We will copy the file name of the located pop-up window program. Remember to include the file extension. After copying the name, you can delete the program directly.
Remember to include the file extension
Copy the file name of the pop-up software
The third step is to create a new document. After deleting the pop-up window program, we create a new txt document, and then replace the name of the new document with the file name we just copied. Remember to overwrite the extension of the txt file, and then save it. The system will prompt If you want to change the extension, click OK.
Remember to overwrite the txt extension too
Create a new blank file with the same name as the pop-up software
The fourth step is to add permissions, right-click the file with the changed name, select Properties-Security, select Edit under the security option, then check all the Deny columns in the pop-up window, and then click OK. The system will prompt whether to change the permissions. Just click OK.
The system will prompt you whether to change the permissions, just click OK.
Add permissions to blank files
Add permissions to blank files
Click OK
Click OK
After completing the four steps, the "pseudo" pop-up window program we created is complete. It has unreadable, writable and deleted attributes.
2. Targeting deeply hidden pop-up programs
For such pop-up programs, we also start with the task manager.
Since most of the process names of such pop-up programs are in English, we need to conduct trial and error on the suspicious process in the task manager. For example, if you find a process that you have not seen before, you can first locate the file, then close the process and see if the pop-up window disappears immediately. If it disappears, it means the location is successful. If it does not disappear, continue to try and make mistakes.
Find pop-ups through trial and error
If the positioning is successful, the following steps are the same as the ones we just talked about: delete, create, and add permissions.
Delete, create, add permissions
position

Create new and rename
Create new and rename
Add permissions
Add permissions
After this, rogue pop-ups will no longer appear on our computers.
