Step 1: Open BitComet, click "Ctrl+P", the "Options" dialog box will pop up, select "Task Settings", and change the default download directory from "C:Program FilesBitCometDownloads" to your own dedicated download directory.

Step 2: Then check the "Allocate space before downloading" checkbox to avoid the situation where the BT file is not completely downloaded but the disk space is full.

Step 3: In order to save energy, you can choose "turn off the computer when all tasks have stopped automatically".

Step 4: Select the "Automatically continue downloading and uploading tasks when BitComet starts" check box in "Interface Appearance". It can improve BT download efficiency.

Step 5: If you want to avoid interrupting downloads, you need to enable the "Prevent the system from entering standby/hibernation while tasks are running" function; otherwise, do not affect normal computer standby/hibernation by activating it.

Note: The option settings we mentioned above are not the initial state of BitComet.
