First, you need to register and log in to CNKI in order to use its various functions. You can click the "Register" button in the upper right corner of the CNKI official website, fill in the relevant information, and complete the registration. Then, you can log in to CNKI with your username or email and password. After logging in, you can see your username and balance in the upper right corner, as well as some common functions, such as "My Bookshelf", "My Collection", "My Downloads", etc. These functions can help you manage and view your literature resources.

2. Search for literature

Basic search: This is the most commonly used search method. You can enter information such as keywords or titles in the search box on the homepage, select the search scope (such as journals, doctoral and master's theses, conference papers, etc.), and click the "Search" button. A list of relevant literature is available.

Advanced search: This is a more precise search method. You can click the "Advanced search" button below the search box on the homepage to enter the advanced search page. Here, you can set more search conditions, such as author, institution, year, classification number, etc., and you can use Boolean operators (such as AND, OR, NOT) to combine different conditions to narrow or expand the search scope.

Topic search: This is a more professional search method. You can click the "Topic search" button in the left column of the homepage to enter the topic search page. Here, you can choose different topic areas (such as economics, law, medicine, etc.), and browse or filter related literature according to different dimensions (such as topics, authors, institutions, etc.).

Citation search: This is a more in-depth search method. You can click the "Citation Search" button in the left column of the homepage to enter the citation search page. Here, you can enter a known document title or author and other information, and then click the "Citation Analysis" button to get the status of the document being cited by other documents, as well as the related citation network diagram. In this way, you can discover more related or similar documents to this document.
