The following two methods are more convenient. It should be noted that the absolute reference formula in method one only applies to the same worksheet. If you want to reference it in other worksheets, you need to add the name of the referenced worksheet (assuming that the tax rate data is in For cell C2 in sheet1, enter the formula "=B4*Sheet1!$C$2") in cell C4 of other worksheets. The method of defining the name in method two can be used in any worksheet in the same workbook.

Method 1: Absolute reference

Enter the tax rate value (such as 5%) in cell C2, and then enter the formula "=B4*$C$2" in cell C4. In this way, when filling down, the entire column C will use the turnover data of the corresponding column B. Multiply the tax rate in cell C2. When the tax rate is adjusted, as long as you change it in cell C2 (for example, to 5.5%), the data in the tax amount will automatically update immediately without having to "drag" it again.

Method 2: Define the name

Click [Insert] → [Name] → [Definition] in the ET menu, and enter the abbreviation "SL" for "tax rate" in the text box under "Name in the current workbook" in the pop-up "Define Name" panel. ”, enter “=5%” in the text box under “Reference Location”, and press OK to exit.

After defining the name, enter the formula "=B4*SL" in cell C4 and fill it down to get the "tax amount". When the tax rate changes, just change the "5%" in the SL reference position in the "Define Name" panel.
