Is Win11 faster and more powerful than Win10? Win11 performance data exposed

Author: Huajun Information Date: 2021-07-09

Microsoft will hold an event on June 24 to introduce the upcoming next-generation Windows version, which should be the successor to Windows 10. A few days ago, this next-generation Windows system was exposed, and the leaked version showed that it was Windows 11. We also had a detailed experience of the leaked version of Windows 11 for the first time. You can click on the link below to view it.

Win11 has brought visual improvements, but many friends don’t know how its performance compares to today’s Win10. According to reports from Windows Lastest, thanks to the leaked version of the image, some media have already conducted a simple performance test. Let’s take a look at the results.

This performance test is based on the following platforms.

·Windows 10 21H1 and Windows 11 leaked versions

·Samsung Galaxy Book S, based on Lakefield Core i5-L16G7 platform

·Use Samsung’s built-in software to upgrade to the latest driver

Test results:

The following are the results of various tests. It can be seen that the performance of Win11 is significantly better than Win10.

The first is the GeekBench 5 test. Compared with Win10 21H1, Win11 has a 5.8% advantage in multi-threading and a 2% advantage in single-threading. The performance of Win11 is better than Win10 21H2, but the improvement is not exciting. We look forward to the final version having better performance.

Next is the browser benchmark Speedmeter 2, and the test also shows that Win11’s performance is better. Using the same Chrome 91, Win11 has a 10% performance advantage over Win10 21H1.

Let’s look at the rendering results. In Cinebench R23, Win11 showed an advantage of about 8.2% in the single-thread test. This test result is obtained through three different tests, and the Core i5-L16G7 processor does show stronger performance in Win11.

Finally, there is the 3DMark test. There is no significant performance difference in this test, which is understandable - 3DMark relies heavily on drivers, and new systems and new hardware do not yet have perfect driver matching.

Overall, the performance improvement of the leaked version of Win11 is still obvious. According to some developers, Microsoft and Intel also appear to be optimizing performance for Win11. Intel's 12th generation Core processor Alder Lake will use a large and small core architecture, and the new system will be better optimized for this and achieve due efficiency and performance.

Microsoft will also optimize CPUs with mixed large and small core architectures through Windows Update in the future, which will benefit CPUs such as Intel's Alder Lake and ARM's big.LITTLE. On June 24, Microsoft will introduce a new generation of Windows systems, while Intel will release Alder Lake processors in October this year. We look forward to the Wintel Alliance bringing better products and experiences.
