Tonight, Microsoft held a press conference for the next generation of Windows, which was officially announced that the name was Windows 11.

Microsoft today announced the basic requirements for installing Windows 11 on the computer. If your device is already running Windows 10, you can use computer health status to check the application to evaluate compatibility.

Windows 11 function specific requirements

Some functions in Windows 11 have added some requirements in addition to the minimum requirements listed above. The following are additional requirements for some main functions:

5G supports 5G modem.

Automatic HDR needs an HDR monitor.

Bitlocker to go requires a USB flash drive (only available in Windows professional and higher versions).

The client Hyper-V needs to support the processor of the secondary address conversion (SLAT) (only available in the Windows professional version and a higher version).

Cortana needs a microphone and speakers. It is currently available in Windows 11, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain, Britain and the United States. DirectStorage requires 1 TB or larger NVMe SSD to store and run the "standard NVM Express controller" driver and DirectX 12 Ultimate GPU.

DirectX 12 Ultimate needs supporting games and graphics chips.

Status needs to have a sensor that can detect the distance between the person or the device or the sensor for interacting with the device.

Intelligent video conferences require video cameras, microphones and speakers (audio output).

Multi -voice assistant (MVA) requires microphones and speakers.

The layout of three columns requires a screen with a width of 1920 or more effective pixels.

Space sound effects need to support hardware and software.

Teams requires video cameras, microphones and speakers (audio output).

Touch requires screens or monitors that support multi -touch.

Dual-factor authentication requires PIN, biometrics (fingerprint readers or light-filled infrared cameras) or mobile phones with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth function.

Voice input requires a computer to have a microphone.

Voice awakening needs to have a modern machine -based power mode and microphone.

Wi-Fi 6E requires new WLAN IHV hardware and drivers, as well as AP / routers that support Wi-Fi 6E.

Windows Hello requires near infrared (IR) imaging camera or fingerprint reader for biometric identity verification. Device without biosensor can use Windows Hello Pin or Microsoft's portable security key. Windows projection needs to support Windows display driver model (WDDM) 2.0 display accessories and Wi-Fi adapters that support Wi-Fi Direct.

Xbox (app) requires the Xbox Live account (not provided in all regions).

Functional abandonment and removal

When an update from Windows 10 to Windows 11 or in installing Windows 11, certain functions may be discarded or removed. Please check some of the main functions related to the affected below:

Cortana will no longer be included in the first launch experience, nor is it fixed in the taskbar.

The desktop wallpaper cannot roam the device with the Microsoft account when logging in to the device when logging in to the device.

The Internet Explorer will no longer use it. Microsoft Edge has become a recommended alternative product, which contains IE mode and may be suitable for some cases.

Mathematical input panels are removed. Mathematics recognition device will be installed as needed, including mathematical input controls and recognition. Application (such as oneNote) mathematics ink writing is not affected by this change.

The news and interests in the taskbar were removed. The component will provide an alternative function.

The fast state and related settings on the lock screen interface are removed

The S mode is now available only for Windows 11 family.

Skype Meetnow is replaced by "chat".

The screenshot tools can be continued, but the old design and functions in the Windows 10 version are replaced by the design and functions in the application of the "Screenshot and Sketch" application.

The "Start" menu has changed greatly in Windows 11, including discarding and removing the following main functions:

No longer supports the naming group and application folders, and the layout is canceled to adjust the size of the size.

When the Windows 10 is upgraded, the fixed applications and websites will not be migrated.

Dynamic stickers will no longer be available. To preview the dynamic content quickly, please check the new component function.

The tablet mode is removed, and the new function will be reflected in the connection and separation of the keyboard.

The taskbar function includes the following changes:

"Human connections" no longer exist in the taskbar.

Some icons may no longer be displayed in the equipment upgrade system, including previous custom content.

The taskbar position is allowed to be aligned to the bottom of the screen.

Application can no longer be able to customize the taskbar area.

The timeline was removed. Microsoft Edge provides some similar functions.

Touching keyboards will no longer have options for fixed and mobile keyboard layouts on 18 -inch or larger size screens.

The electronic wallet was removed.
