Quick search:

1. Just enter keywords directly in the [Quick Search Box] next to the zotero software toolbar.

2. Quick search can set 3 search scopes: (1) title, creator, year; (2) all fields and tags; (3) all content. If the total number of document records is small, you can set it to "All Contents"; if there are many document records, it is recommended to set it to "Title, Creator, Year".

Advanced search:

【1】Open the advanced search dialog box

Click the [magnifying glass] icon on the toolbar to open the advanced search dialog box.

【2】Set the scope of search library

You can set the search scope of the literature library to: [My Literature Library], that is, all documents; you can also search specific sub-category libraries

【3】Set the logical relationship of search conditions

In the [Match] drop-down menu, select "All", which means logical "AND", that is, all the following conditions need to be met;

Selecting "Any" means logical "OR", that is, any one of the following conditions can be met.

【4】Set search conditions

After setting a condition, click Add Condition, and almost all fields in the ZOTERO database can be set as search fields in the search conditions.

【5】Run search

Click the [Search] button to run the search conditions, and the results are presented directly at the bottom of the dialog box;

Click the [Clear] button to clear the set search conditions and reset them.

【6】Save search

Click the [Save Search Results] button to save the search settings and generate a search type classification library in the [Document Classification Area]. You can see that the lower right corner of the icon contains a magnifying glass, which is significantly different from other document classification libraries.

As long as the newly imported document records meet the search conditions, they will be automatically classified into this search classification database.
