Chrome/Safari both lost: the new Edge browser is the first to achieve 100% support for HTML5

The new Edge built by Microsoft after switching to the Chromium platform became an instant hit. The official version was only released in January this year. At the end of March, it became the second largest browser in the world, surpassing FireFox.

In the pursuit of victory, Microsoft has not forgotten to continue to make calls for Edge. This time its trump card is "humanistic care."

The official chart shows that the new Edge achieves 100% support for HTML5 accessibility. In comparison, Safari is 98%, Chrome is 92%, FireFox is 89%, and the old IE 11 is only 56%.

However, there are two points that need explanation here.

First, let’s look at the test software version. Edge uses the latest version v80, while Chrome is still at v62 and FireFox is at v58. Microsoft's response to this is that this is the testing choice of the HTML5 Accessibility team, not Microsoft's "Tianji horse racing".

Of course, this choice is also reasonable. The selected versions of Chrome and FireFox have a high number of users.

Looking at this HTML5 Accessibility (A11y), it reflects the completeness of the optimization functions for people with disabilities (especially those with visual impairments).

If you look at HTML5 performance, HTML5 TEST is more representative. In this regard, the original Chrome still performs best.
