Today, Bilibili Danmaku (Station B) announced an upgrade: AV accounts have been fully upgraded to BV accounts.

Station B stated that the AV number has always been an important identifier for station B’s video manuscripts. In order to protect the security of manuscript information, accommodate more submissions, and safeguard the rights and interests of UP owners, the AV number will be fully upgraded to the BV number starting from March 23, 2020. Different from the purely numerical AV number, the BV number will be a string consisting of numbers and uppercase and lowercase letters, automatically generated by an algorithm. In the future, the BV number will be used uniformly as a manuscript identification.

It is understood that at the same time, the related functions of AV accounts generated before March 23, 2020 will remain unchanged, such as shared manuscript links, AV account search, and highlight jumps in updates, comments, and private messages.

After the user copies the BV number or includes the link to the BV number, he or she will automatically jump to the video when opening the Bilibili App.
