In the process of using Multisim to create simulation circuit diagrams, sometimes the circuit diagram is too large and the drawings are not enough, and the circuit is too large to facilitate analysis and understanding. Therefore, we can consider the idea of ​​module design. Here, we use Multisim to create sub-circuit diagrams. Each sub-circuit diagram is a module. On the main drawing, we only see the module connections one by one, which saves drawings and is easy to understand.

Method/steps

Open Multisim and a circuit diagram Design1 will be generated by default.

Create subcircuit diagram

step1: Click the Place menu in the menu bar

step2:Click New subcircuit

Name the subcircuit diagram

In the pop-up window, give the sub-circuit diagram a name, here it is named sub1

View the structural relationship between subcircuit and main circuit diagram in hierarchical view

You can see that the sub-circuit diagram sub1 is located under the main circuit diagram Design1

step1: Click on the sub-circuit diagram sub1 in the hierarchical view window

step2: The design view on the right automatically switches to the sub-circuit diagram, where you can design the required circuit

If a subcircuit diagram needs to be connected to other modules of the main circuit diagram, connectors must be added to the subcircuit diagram

step1: Click Place on the menu bar

step2:Click Connector

step3: Click HB/SC Connecotr to create a connector, and place the connector where it needs to be connected in the circuit
