Step 1: Install fax service

1. Click "Start"--"Control Panel"--"Add or Remove Programs" icon;

3. Insert the Windows XP installation disk into the CD-ROM drive, click "Next", and Windows XP will add the fax service to the application.

After the "Fax Service" option is successfully installed, a "Fax" item is added to "Communications" in the "All Programs" group of Windows XP, and a "Fax" icon is added to the "Printers and Faxes" program item.

Step 2: Configure fax service

1. Click "Start"--"Control Panel"--"Printers and Faxes";

2. Click the "Fax" icon in the "Printers and Faxes" program item to open the "Fax Configuration Wizard", fill in the "name", "fax number" and other "sender information" in detail, and click "Next" to continue;

3. Enter the "Select Fax Sending or Receiving Device" screen and select the default modem device;

4. Click the small box in front of "Allow Receive" to enable the fax to have dual functions of sending and receiving;

5. Select whether to use "manual answer" or "automatic answer" when receiving faxes, and then click "Next" to continue;

6. Enter the "Transmitting User Identifier" and "Receiving User Identifier" and click "Next" to continue;

7. In the "Routing Options" screen, select "Print to" and select the printer connected to the computer to print out the received fax; or select the "Save copy to folder" option to save a copy of the fax; click "Next" continues;

8. At this time, the fax function configuration is completed. Click "Finish" to automatically enter the "Fax Console" screen.

Step 3. Use fax service

1. Click the "Send New Fax" icon on the "Fax Console" toolbar to enter the "Fax Usage Wizard" and click "Next" to continue;

2. Fill in the "Recipient Information" carefully and click "Next" to continue;

3. There are four types of confidential, general, reference and urgent formats to choose from in the "Homepage Template". At the same time, fill in the subject of this fax in the "Subject Line". If your fax does not have much content and you are not interested in the font There are not many requirements for the format. You can fill in the fax content in the "Remarks" column, send it along with the homepage, and then click "Next" to continue;

4. Enter the fax "Schedule", where you can choose the time to send the fax, including "immediately", "discount period" and "specified time" within 24 hours. You can also select "Priority" and click " Next step" to continue;

5. At this time, the fax sending wizard ends. The "Preview Fax" function is also provided here, which can preview the fax and perform operations such as rotating and annotating the fax;

6. Click "Finish" to send the fax.

If the fax we want to send has more content and is more complex, we can use Word and other software to compile the document, then click "Print" under "File", select the fax machine logo in "Printer Name", so that when "Print " will enter the "Fax Usage Wizard" mentioned above to fax.

Windows XP also provides the ability to edit the fax home page by opening the "Fax Home Page Editor" in the "Fax" program to send a fully personalized fax.
