Normally, when downloading Thunder, the installation package will be placed on the C drive, and the downloaded content will also be saved to the C drive. However, this will also slow down the system. After reinstalling the system , download records and files will be lost. Here is a method to never lose download records and files.

Step 1: Back up your files

Thunder
Thunder

Open the Thunder installation folder, such as C:Program FilesThunder NetworkThunder, find the Profiles subfolder, and copy it to a folder. Our download records and settings in Thunder are saved here.

Step Two: Move Files

Before building Green Thunder, we need to move the files we downloaded to the non-system area. Select the "Common Settings" → "Storage Directory" command in the main window of Thunder, then open the option to move it to another folder, such as d:download. After completion, press the "OK" button, and then pay attention to the corresponding confirmation dialog box that Xunlei pops up. Be sure to select "Also modify the storage folder of the subcategory" and "Move local files", so that the software will move the corresponding files to d at the same time. :download. This ensures our "seamless movement".

Step 3: Uninstall Thunder

Right-click the Thunder floating window, select "Exit", then open the "Control Panel", double-click "Add or Remove Programs", then find "Thunder 5" and uninstall it. And restart the system after uninstalling.

Step 4: Reinstall Thunder

Download and install the latest version of Thunder from the Internet, and point its installation folder to a directory in the D drive, such as D:softwarethunder5. Then, close Thunder. Then open the D:softwareThunder5 folder, copy the previously saved Profiles subfolder and overwrite D:softwareThunder5Profiles.

Reopen Thunder, we can see the previous download records and files, so we can move the download records and download files originally saved on the C drive.

Step 5: Upgrade Thunder

One thing to note when using this method is that we'd better not use its own upgrade function to upgrade Thunder. If Thunder prompts that there is an upgraded version, we can download and install the latest version of Thunder from the Internet, and install it to the D:softwareThunder5 folder.

Step 6: Use Thunder

Even if the system is reinstalled in the future, there is no need to reinstall Thunder. Just double-click the D:softwarethunder5Thunder.exe file directly. Next, select "Tools" → "Configuration", then click the "Monitor" item on the left, and then select the "Check whether Thunder is the default download tool at startup" checkbox under "Browser" in the right window . Then select the corresponding command under "Tools" → "Browser Support" and set Thunder as the default downloader for IE, Opera and Firefox.

Tips

If you cannot use Thunder through step 6 on some systems, you can download and install the latest version of Thunder from the Internet, and be sure to install it to the D:softwareThunder5 folder.
