Office 2003 has been launched for some time, SP1 for it has also been released, and there are many updates. So do we need to install Office 2003 step by step after reinstalling the system, then update SP1, and then apply patches one by one, and finally start using it? In fact, just a few steps can save a lot of time.

Step 1: Automatically fill in the serial number

Copy all the files on the Office 2003 installation CD to a folder, such as H:softOfficeOffice 2003office2003. Then open the H:softOfficeOffice 2003office2003FILESSETUPSETUP.INI file, and then write the following statement under the [Options] section:

USERNAME=PC reader

COMPANYNAME=company name

PIDKEY=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

XXXXX

As shown in Figure 1, USERNAME is the user name, COMPANYNAME is the unit name, and the following 24-digit X represents the Office 2003 installation serial number, which can be found on the back of the installation CD or in the user manual.

Step 2: Generate installation files

Press Win+R and enter the "H:softOfficeOffice 2003office2003SETUP.EXE" /a command in the "Run" window (Figure 2). Then the window shown in Figure 3 will appear. Enter the serial number and extract it to a folder, such as K:Office.

Step 3: Integrate SP1

After downloading the SP1 update package, write a batch command, "Office2003SP1-kb842532-fullfile-chs.exe" /Q /C /T:k:officeSP1, and place it in the same file as Office2003SP1-kb842532-fullfile-chs.exe folder; then go to K:Office to create a new SP1 folder; finally double-click this batch file to extract all the files of Office 2003 SP1 to the K:OfficeSP1 folder (Figure 4).
