When editing with ChemDraw, we sometimes want to put the first created layer in front, but the order of ChemDraw layers is based on the order of creation. The layers created first are at the bottom. In fact, we can There are two commands to change the order of layers. How to operate them? Let’s take a look.

1. Introduction to layer order:

The layers of the ChemDraw document have three layers, which are sorted in order. The order from back to front is: imported pictures, ChemDraw structural graphics, and text.

As shown in Figure 1, the clock is an imported picture on the last layer, the orbital diagram is a ChemDraw structure graphic on the middle layer, and the text WATCH AND ORBIT is on the front layer. However, ChemDraw hierarchical ordering can be specified and changed using the "Bring to Front" and "Send to Back" commands in the "Object" menu.

2. Method 1: Bring to Front command

Convert the following structural graphics to the previous method:

1. Use the selection tool to select the object to be brought to the front;

2. Select the "Bring to Front" command from the "Object" menu. At this time, the selected structure graphic appears in front of all other graphics. As shown in Figure 2

3. Select the inverted triangle at the back of the structure graphic above and use the "Bring to Front" command to transform it to the front row.

3. Method 2: Send to Back command

Method to transform the previous structure graphic into the following one:

1. Use the selection tool to select the object to be placed behind;

2. Select the "Send to Back" command from the "Object" menu. At this time, the selected structure graphic appears behind all other graphics. As shown in Figure 3

3. Select the first two orbital diagrams in the structure diagram above and use the "Send to Back" command to change to the last row.

Warm reminder: The imported picture can be any picture pasted into the ChemDraw document from another application, such as a molecular model or curve diagram from a drawing program. ChemDraw structural graphics refer to any structural graphics created with ChemDraw, excluding text. Text includes atomic symbols, labels, and text descriptions.
